Sheldon Adelson, owner of the Las Vegas Sands casino empire gave a $2.5 million check to the "Drug Free America Foundation" to prevent the legalization of marijuana in Florida

The money is going to the anti-marijuana foundation started by Mel Sembler and his wife Betty. The Semblers once led a drug rehab center that was shut down over wide-ranging child abuse scandals. Former clients of Straight, Inc recount episodes of brutal beatings, rape and systematic psychological abuse.

After STRAIGHT INC. was shut down, the Semblers changed the name to the Drug Free America Foundation. Drug Free America  helps produce anti-marijuana literature and promotional campaigns, and receives funding from the Federal government to help small businesses test employees for drugs.
