Don't Worry, Your Government Will Tell You If It Gets Out Of Line
By: Thinking Clearly
In an article by Carol D. Leonnig, Published: August 15 in WP Politics, the leader of the secret court that is supposed to provide critical
oversight of the government’s vast spying programs said that its ability
to do so is limited and that it must trust the government to report
when it improperly spies on Americans.
One must assume that there is no valid system of checks and balances in operation related to the collection of information on American citizens and its use by the various agencies of the government. If the very court in charge of keeping the government honest has to rely on that same government to report on itself, haven't we as American Citizens given over our constitution to a secret government that can do whatever it wants whenever it wants?
Don't worry. It will be alright. They promise to let you know if anything is wrong. Trust the government. Its in the National interest?
